The Jeep Renegade combines a compact SUV footprint with gasoline, four-wheel-drive and plug-in-hybrid variants. The statistics below distinguish production, sales, registrations and technical test results by market and period, so figures from Italy, Germany, Europe, the UK and the United States are not treated as interchangeable.

Jeep Renegade Production and Global Sales Statistics
The broadest scale figures come from Stellantis announcements and cover cumulative production or sales rather than a single annual sales year. They describe reported totals by the stated date, with “more than” preserved as an open lower bound.
- Stellantis reported that Melfi, Italy had produced more than 1,000,000 Renegades by 2021.
- Stellantis reported more than 210,000 Renegades sold in Italy by 2021; this is cumulative Italian sales, not a 2021-only total.
- One year after the 4xe launch, about 6,000 Renegade 4xe units were registered in Italy in 2021.
- Stellantis separately reported 4,000 Renegade 4xe sales in Italy in 2021. The registration and sales figures use different measures and should not be combined as one total.
European registration data provides a later, partial-period view. The comparison covers January through August, not complete calendar years.
| European registration period | Renegade registrations | Geography and definition |
|---|---|---|
| January–August 2022 | 31,705 | Europe; manufacturer-reported period total |
| January–August 2023 | More than 32,000 | Europe; manufacturer-reported period total |

Jeep Renegade Registration Trends and Market Data
Germany offers a calendar-year 2022 model-specific registration measure and a reported year-over-year change. The figures are German registrations, not European market share and not global sales.
| German Renegade measure | 2022 result | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Registrations | 5,418 | Germany, calendar year 2022 |
| Change versus 2021 | 35.4% increase | Germany, model-specific comparison |
| PHEV share of Renegade sales | 60% | Germany, 2022 sales mix |
The 60% figure is a share of Renegade sales, so it should not be read as the share of all German plug-in-hybrid registrations or all Jeep sales. The 35.4% change describes the model’s German registration trend between 2021 and 2022.

Taken together, the available figures show different parts of the vehicle’s adoption profile: cumulative manufacturing scale at Melfi, country-level sales and registrations in Italy, a partial European registration comparison, and a German annual registration result. They do not establish a single worldwide annual sales total.
Jeep Renegade Engine, Power and 4xe Performance Data
The 2022 1.3L specification describes a turbocharged gasoline powertrain in North American terms. Its rated outputs are tied to engine speed, and the fuel and maintenance values apply to that specification rather than every Renegade variant.
| 2022 Renegade 1.3L specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Maximum power | 177 hp at 5,750 rpm |
| Maximum torque | 210 lb-ft at 1,750 rpm |
| Electronically limited maximum speed | 6,500 rpm |
| Compression ratio | 10.5:1 |
| Maximum turbo boost | 2.7 bar |
| Fuel specification | 87-octane accepted; 91 octane recommended |
| Oil capacity with dry filter | 4.5 quarts |
Source: NHTSA, “2022 Jeep Renegade Specifications”. The fuel specification is North American, and the oil capacity is a maintenance value rather than a performance result.
The Renegade 4xe adds a rear electric motor to a plug-in-hybrid system, with output varying by trim. The launch specification reports the following values:
- Longitude and Limited versions had 190 hp of combined output.
- Trailhawk had 240 hp of combined output.
- The electric motor delivered 60 hp and 250 Nm of torque.
- The combustion engine delivered 270 Nm of torque.
- The stated 0–62 mph time was about 7.5 seconds, an estimate whose result can vary with trim and test conditions.

Jeep Renegade Fuel Economy, Electric Range and Emissions Statistics
The 2022 U.S. specification separates 4×2 and 4×4 ratings. These EPA-style figures should not be directly compared with the UK’s WLTP or manufacturer test-cycle results.
| 2022 1.3L configuration | City | Highway | Combined |
|---|---|---|---|
| Renegade 4×2 | 24 mpg | 32 mpg | 27 mpg |
| Renegade 4×4 | 23 mpg | 29 mpg | 26 mpg |
Source: NHTSA, “2022 Jeep Renegade Specifications”. These are specification-sheet ratings; actual fuel use varies with driving conditions.
The UK range figures use different testing conventions and a different published period. A December 2020 UK price list reported a WLTP combined fuel-economy span of 32.47 to 42.16 mpg and a WLTP CO2 span of 152 to 204 g/km for the range.
Source: Jeep UK, “Jeep Renegade Price List January 2022”. Trim, wheels and equipment affect the values, and WLTP results are not directly interchangeable with EPA-style mpg.
For the 4xe, the launch press kit listed an 11.4 kWh battery and electric-only range of up to 26 miles. It also stated hybrid-mode CO2 below 50 g/km and economy of 123–134 mpg with the battery charged; those are conditional manufacturer test figures rather than fuel-only steady-state results.
Source: Stellantis, “Renegade 4xe: The Jeep Take on the Plug-in Hybrid – Press Kit”.
A separate UK technical sheet listed the 4xe 190 hp version at 1.7–1.8 L/100 km, 39–42 g/km CO2 and 49–50 km EV range. These are official cycle figures whose results depend on market, equipment and test method.

Jeep Renegade Dimensions, Cargo and Off-Road Capability Statistics
The 2022 buyer guide gives a compact body measurement set and distinguishes clearance and approach, departure and breakover angles by drivetrain. The guide notes that its dimensions are based on 2021 model-year vehicle information, so trim and drivetrain details matter.
| 2022 Renegade body measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Wheelbase | 101.2 inches |
| Overall length | 166.6 inches |
| Overall width | 79.6 inches |
| Overall height | 66.5 inches |
| Seating capacity | Five occupants |
| Fuel tank | 12.7 gallons |
| Cargo volume, rear seats up | 18.5 cu ft |
| Cargo volume, rear seats folded | 50.8 cu ft |
Source: Stellantis Fleet, “2022 Jeep Renegade”.
The off-road geometry changes substantially across the listed configurations:
| Measure | 4×2 | 4×4 | Trail Rated versions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ground clearance | 6.7 in | 8.0 in | 8.7 in |
| Approach angle | 17.9° | 21.0° | 30.5° |
| Departure angle | 29.7° | 32.1° | 34.3° |
| Breakover angle | 21.2° | 24.0° | 25.7° |
The same guide lists 2,000 lb of maximum towing capacity for properly equipped Trailhawk models. Its angle specifications include an air-dam note, and the towing figure applies only to the stated Trailhawk and equipment conditions.

Jeep Renegade Recall, Safety and Ownership Statistics
Recall data measures a defined campaign population and a point-in-time report, not overall reliability or lifetime safety. NHTSA recall 19V-287 was filed April 10, 2019 and included both Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X vehicles.
- The campaign population was 25,004 vehicles, including 671 Fiat 500X vehicles.
- The Renegade-only portion covered 24,333 U.S. 2019 model-year vehicles.
- The affected Renegades were built from March 12, 2018 through April 3, 2019.
- The manufacturer estimated that 100% of the potentially involved population had the defect.
Source: NHTSA, “Part 573 Safety Recall Report 19V-287”.
The report’s April 3, 2019 snapshot recorded zero CAIRS, field reports and VOQs for the issue, along with 0.0 warranty claims per 1,000 vehicles. It also reported zero accidents and zero injuries potentially related to the issue as of that date; this snapshot does not measure later outcomes.
The current Jeep U.S. page describes the Renegade as a discontinued U.S. vehicle and provides used-vehicle and service context for that market. That status should not be generalized to every international market.
